De collegereeks Human microbiome in health and disease wordt aangeboden door Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam en ARTIS. Iedereen met enige microbiologische voorkennis kan zich hiervoor inschrijven. De collegereeks wordt in het Engels gegeven. Inschrijven kan vanaf 1 december.
(PhD)studenten van alle Nederlandse Universiteiten kunnen deze collegereeks kosteloos volgen als onderdeel van hun studie of promotietraject. Inschrijving hiervoor kan vanaf 1 december.
Inhoud
Ieder mens draagt meer dan honderdduizend miljard microben: minuscule organismen op en in je lichaam, die je nodig hebt om te leven. In vijf colleges maak je kennis met verschillende groepen microben. Je leert waaruit ze bestaan en wat ze doen als je ziek bent of juist gezond. Hoe kunnen we onze kennis over het microleven gebruiken om een diagnose te stellen of een aandoening te behandelen? Dit jaar is de serie voor het eerst in het planetarium en zal deze ook bestaan uit een speciale sessie van twee lezingen over planetary health en astrobiologie.
