Founders Room

Hold a meeting with ARTIS’ former directors looking down at you.

This was the office of the founder of Natura Artis Magistra, G.F. Westerman. It has always been used for organising, reflecting and planning for the future. Hold a meeting in the peaceful atmosphere of the Founders Room and take some time to reflect in Artisplein, strolling along the Dutch Polder Landscape. Enjoy lunch in the quaint conservatory with a view out towards the spoonbills.

The Founders Room is in the North Pavilion of de Ledenlokalen building and has its own entrance in the square leading to ARTIS Royal Zoo and Micropia. The portraits of all the former directors of ARTIS Royal Zoo hang on the walls. The wallpaper is inspired by the bamboo wood in the park at ARTIS Royal Zoo. You can adjourn to the adjoining Pagoda Tree Vestibule and Plane Tree Salon for more informal talks.

The Founders Room is suitable for small-scale meetings, dinners or receptions and can be used in combination with other rooms on the ground floor. We can also help you organise your meeting or party to make use of the whole of the North Pavilion.
